6th Grade
Novel letter writing project is due Friday, May 1. Please do not email as I do not have the capacity to print 16 letters per student.
Weekly Homework
The reading packet is due every Monday. This consists of 4 components which must be typed and either emailed or turned in.
Every FRIDAY - Essay due beginning May 8
Spelling test Friday
Essay Example that was discussed in class today:
Student Name
Date
Essay
“If there is a quote (8th grade), it goes here” – Anonymous
If you wanted to get 100% on your weekly essays, how would you go about it?
If I wanted to get 100% on my weekly essays, I would begin with the proper format according to the examples we have seen in class. The quote (8th grade) AND the prompt would appear at the top of the page. I would then indent my paragraph and begin writing. My first sentence would restate the prompt in such a way that the reader would know that I had an opinion or idea. Each following sentence should be a detail that relates to the main topic. I would continue making salient points, changing up the way I started my sentences and not worrying about counting sentences. Even though the paragraph has to be a minimum of five sentences, I would occasionally expand my thoughts to go beyond that. Finally, I would proofread my work, correcting spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes!
